Overview

The NOAA OMAO Marine Operations Center (MOC) created the eSAIL system to provide personnel meta-data needed in the unlikely event of an emergency situation on one of our large vessels.

Every vessel in the fleet has it's own local instance of eSAIL.  These systems all synchronize with shore allowing each ship to have a read-only copy of the master database.  This allows for user profiles to 'roam' and be migrated from ship to ship rather than requiring a user to re-enter the same data repeatedly as they transfer between various vessels.
